FORCM (SS) Jeff Garrison

Force Master ChiefA native of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Master Chief Garrison enlisted in the Navy in 1986 and attended basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois.  After completing Submarine School in Groton, Connecticut, he reported aboard his first command, USS Pintado (SSN 672).  This tour included two deployments, one of which was to the North Pole where he received his Dolphins on June 16, 1987.

Master Chief Garrison’s follow on sea duty assignments included USS Minneapolis Saint Paul (SSN 708), USS Phoenix (SSN 702), and USS La Jolla (SSN 701) as the Navigation/Operations Department Enlisted Advisor.  As the “Chief of the Boat” aboard USS Tucson (SSN 770), he completed two Western Pacific deployments in direct support of the global war on terrorism.

Ashore, Master Chief Garrison served as a Radioman at Commander Naval Submarine Forces Telecommunications Center in Norfolk, Virginia.  In March 2001, he served as the Communications Officer at Commander Submarine Squadron Seven in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Upon completion of his “Chief of the Boat” tour, he was selected to serve as the Commander Submarine Squadron Eight Command Master Chief.

 Master Chief Garrison is a graduate of the Chief of the Boat and Command Master Chief Capstone course as well as the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy.  He is entitled to wear the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
